How to Spot a Fake Locksmith in Middle Tennessee

 Locksmith scams are common in Middle Tennessee. Call centers set up fake "local" listings with names that sound like real shops, quote a low price on the phone, then send whoever's available and charge far more on site. The Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee has warned about these operations and their "vague or copycat business names."

Warning signs

   • No real street address, just "Nashville, TN" or a pin in the middle of downtown

   • A name that's almost the same as a known local business

   • Different phone numbers for the same company name

   • A phone quote that sounds too good, followed by a much bigger bill at your door

   • An unmarked car and no business ID

   • Hundreds or thousands of perfect reviews for a "new" business​

  • Foreign sounding person sounding like in a "call center" 

  • On Call back they seem "pushy" or give unrealistic response times 

 

How to protect yourself

• Ask for the full price before anyone shows up

• Make sure the business name on the van and invoice matches who you called

• Check reviews and how long they've been around

• Save a trusted locksmith's number in your phone before you need it

We're Not Affiliated With "TN Affordable Locksmith"

 

We've had customers call a business named "TN Affordable Locksmith" thinking it was us. We have no connection to that business. Its listings show the phone numbers (615) 752-1086 and (615) 455-4873 and give only "Nashville, TN" as an address. These folks are just one more fake name, fake address company trying to steal from consumers.

The real Affordable Locksmith With 30 years of experience, we're a local, mobile locksmith serving Franklin, Brentwood, Williamson County and southern Nashville. We price up front, show up in our marked Affordable Locksmith van, and do home, business and auto work, including newer Ford and Chevy keys. Auto lockouts are $70
